Assistant Production Manager

The MaxWorx Assistant Production Manager is responsible for assisting in the daily operations and management of the MaxWorx production areas.  Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of this position consist of the ability to perform basic math functions, write, read and comprehend what is read.  Expressive and receptive language skills are also required in the execution of the responsibilities below, and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.  In fulfilling this job, one must be able to move about the program site, lift up to 40lbs., and be able to perform the safety support skills as outlined below. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Customer Order Coordination

Analyze current production methods to ensure efficient and maximum use of space and time

Schedule Production Workers on jobs to maximize production output and minimize cost.This involves the effective consideration of Production Workers’ abilities to fulfill the production needs to meet customer deadlines which may include actual production work to complete orders timely

Responsible for coordinating production and scheduling activity to assure orders are being processed on a timely basis

Responsible for coordinating shipping, receiving and inventory control functions related to specific contract/customer

In conjunction with the production manager, design and implement job set-up procedures to accommodate incoming orders

Ensure supplies are on hand which are required for equipment maintenance and the completion of sub-contract work

Work directly with each customer to ensure all quality standards are met

Building and Safety

Monitor MaxWorx compliance with those safety standards adopted as policy

Responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment in MaxWorx. Periodically assess the serviceability of such and make recommendations for replacement

Assist in emergency, evacuation, and disaster procedures and plans as required.An essential function of this position includes oversee the evacuation of the production workers in the event of a fire or other emergencies

Management and Other Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining an atmosphere conducive to work by promoting sound industrial principles

Complete or assist in time studies, job analysis techniques, and the bidding/quoting process as requested.

Assist in maintaining inventories for raw materials, in-process work and finished goods as requested by the various customers.

Responsible for training Lead Workers on sub-contract work to ensure proper quality and quantity for each job. Fill in for lead workers in MaxWorx and off site locations

 Attend and participate in staff meetings and other relevant agency meetings

 Attend all required trainings

Perform production management duties when requested by and in the absence of the Production Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:   A high school diploma, plus three years successful performance as a supervisor or manager in an industrial setting.
