A successful candidate for Job Coach will:

  • Enhance the ability of individuals to secure and maintain employment by providing support and information necessary to build self-esteem and assertiveness and to make decisions to be successful in the community.
  • Demonstrate knowledge about effective communication strategies and skills to establish positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Participate with the ISP team to respond to the vocational needs and interests of the participants in the development and implementation of the ISP through observation, assessment, and documentation.
  • Identify and facilitate the acquisition of formal and natural supports in the work place.
  • Match supports to the needs of the individual and recognize the importance of family, employers, coworkers, funders, and community relationships.
  • Be aware of the mission of the agency, be familiar with agency practices and guidelines, adhere to agency personnel policies, demonstrate teamwork, and participate in agency activities.
  • Maintain the necessary documentation in a factual, accurate, consistent, and thorough manner.
  • Follow work routine and complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
  • Accept additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Human Service or Business field, plus experience in a community placement or job training program or an equivalent amount of education and experience. Must have valid driver's license.
