Denise Lorson, PT
Director of Therapeutic Services
BS, Physical Therapy, Ithaca College
Denise has been a pediatric physical therapist at the Hope Children’s Development Center since 1978. She works with children of all abilities from birth to age 21. Denise also works with some adult clients through Hope’s Adult Training Facility.
Over the years, Denise has worked with children with a wide variety of diagnoses, using an eclectic, “whatever works” therapeutic approach to get children to reach their potential. She has attended numerous trainings on NDT, SI, MFR and other handling techniques to use with children.
Denise works in all facets of the therapy services department, from outpatient care and early intervention to work with school districts. In 2012, she was appointed as Director of Therapeutic Services for the CDC and now supervises the speech, occupational and physical therapy departments as well.
"I love seeing the kids progress to their highest level of ability. I celebrate even the smallest accomplishments with families and help them advocate for their child. I never get tired of the smiles and hugs. I still enjoy coming to work every day—even on the crazy ones."
