Hope Enterprises Names New Chair of Board of Directors

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Hope Enterprises, Inc., a non-profit provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities in Lycoming, Clinton, Northumberland, Sullivan, Columbia, Montour, Snyder and Union counties, has named Michael P. Barclay as chair of its board of directors effective July 1, 2021.

In his role, Barclay will lead the twenty five-member volunteer board in advocating on behalf of those with intellectual disabilities within HOPE’s service area, and overseeing the organization’s direction and mission. Barclay, who has served as a member of HOPE’s board since 2004, will lead the efforts of Hope Enterprises, Inc.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Mike’s commitment to HOPE and community involvement as the next chairman of Hope Enterprises,” said James Shillenn past chairman of Hope Enterprises. “Under his leadership, HOPE is positioned to continue moving forward in fulfilling its mission of providing support for those with intellectual disabilities.”

“As a long-term member of our organization, Mike has been an advocate for putting people with disABILITIES to work. His incoming role will continue to enhance our services and provide HOPE to those  we serve,” said Rob Labatch, HOPE’s President/CEO. “We congratulate him on his appointment as chair and look forward to working with him in his new role.”

Michael P. Barclay has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, New York, New York. He is a financial advisor with Crockett Financial Services in Williamsport and began in 2010 as a member of its Business Industrial Committee, now referred to as MaxWorx. Barclay is a past President of the North Central Pennsylvania Estate Planner Council where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors, and is a Distinguished Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Williamsport. He presently serves as the Kiwanis Key Club advisor at Williamsport High School.

Mike currently resides in Williamsport with his wife Laurie, and they have a daughter Leland.
