WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Hope Enterprises, a non-profit provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities in Lycoming, Clinton, Northumberland, Columbia, Montour, Snyder and Union counties, has named Glenn Smith II chair of its foundation effective July 1.

A member of the Hope Enterprises board since 2015, Smith will now lead the efforts of the Hope Foundation, overseeing the nine-member volunteer board in raising funds for the non-profit, advocating on behalf of those with intellectual disabilities within Hope's seven-county service area and overseeing the foundation's direction and mission.

"We are fortunate to have someone with Glenn's passion for helping others and expertise in development as the next chairman of the foundation," said Jerry Wertz, Hope Enterprises, Inc. board chairman. "Under his leadership, Hope is positioned to continue moving forward in fulfilling our mission of providing support for those with intellectual disabilities in our community."

"Glenn has long been an advocate of our individuals and the essential role Hope plays in serving them," said Robert Labatch, Hope's president. "We congratulate him on his appointment as chair of the foundation and look forward to working with him in his new role."

Smith is director of athletics development at Lycoming College, where he also directs the college's Warrior Club and serves as assistant director of athletics. Previously, he was director of strategic philanthropy at First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, where he worked with community leaders and donors to raise support to meet emerging needs in the community.

He serves in leadership roles with Play by Faith Ministries in Pleasant Gap and Faith Wesleyan Church in Williamsport. He also announces Friday night football games on WGRC radio.

A native of Watsontown, Smith resides in Montoursville with his wife, Megan, and their three children, Jackson, Carley and Glenn III.
